ABOUT US
Arci Tavola Tonda was founded in 2009 by a group of enthusiasts with a strong interest in ethnomusicology, ethnochoreology, anthropology of the sacred and theatrical research: disciplines capable of making us understand the common origin of music, dance and theatre.
Arci Tavola Tonda focuses on the body, dance and rhythm as tools for creating relationships and human communities.
Our weekly dance classes are led by Roberta Megna and Giuseppe Paradiso, while frame drum classes are led by Michele Piccione. Finally, CHORÓS is our multidisciplinary educational program dedicated to the traditions of Sicily and Southern Italy, led by Barbara Crescimanno.
But Arci Tavola Tonda is also:
- SPONDE SONORE, a world music festival supported by the Ministry of Culture;
- a political and social space open to progressive and anti-capitalist interests, a gathering place free from conformity;
- a performance space open to the city and a creative tool with rehearsal rooms, a recording room, and lutherie.
